Temporary Credentialing
Self-Pay Rate
KC Psychiatry, LLC may offer a temporary reduced self-pay rate to patients who have active commercial health insurance with a plan for which the practice is actively pursuing credentialing or contracting, but with which KC Psychiatry, LLC is not yet able to bill for services on the date of care.
This temporary rate applies only to patients whose insurance plan is one that KC Psychiatry, LLC is actively seeking participation with. It does not apply to patients whose insurance plan is not being pursued by the practice.
During this temporary period, services will be treated as self-pay and will not be billed to the patient’s insurance plan unless otherwise required by the insurer, payer contract, or applicable law.
Current temporary credentialing self-pay rates are:
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: $150
Standard Psychiatric Follow-Up: $50
Extended Psychiatric Follow-Up: $75
These rates are offered specifically during the credentialing or contracting period and do not require qualification under the practice’s Financial Hardship Program.
Services provided under the Temporary Credentialing Self-Pay Rate are considered self-pay at the time of service and are not guaranteed to be eligible for later insurance reimbursement.
If KC Psychiatry, LLC subsequently becomes participating with the patient’s insurance plan, insurance billing will begin in accordance with the payer’s effective date, contractual requirements, and the patient’s applicable copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, or other cost-sharing responsibilities.
If a payer assigns a retroactive effective date or otherwise requires prior services to be handled under the payer contract, KC Psychiatry, LLC will follow the applicable payer requirements and make any necessary account adjustments.
This temporary credentialing self-pay rate does not automatically apply to Medicare, Medicaid, or other government-sponsored health plans.
Missed appointments and late cancellations are subject to the full temporary discounted rate for the scheduled service.
Insurance & Billing Information
Insurance
KC Psychiatry, LLC is currently in the process of becoming credentialed with select insurance plans. A complete list of participating insurance plans will be provided as credentialing is finalized. Insurance coverage and benefits vary by individual plan. Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance carrier directly to verify behavioral health benefits, including copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs.
Self Pay
Self-pay options are available for patients who do not have insurance, choose not to use insurance, or whose insurance plan is not accepted by KC Psychiatry, LLC. Self-pay rates will be provided prior to scheduling.
Financial Hardships & Good Faith Estimates
KC Psychiatry, LLC is committed to making mental healthcare as accessible as possible. Patients experiencing significant financial hardship may contact the practice to discuss available options. Financial assistance is considered on an individual basis and may require completion of a brief financial hardship application and supporting documentation. Self-pay and uninsured patients are also entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of scheduled services in accordance with federal law. Estimates are available upon request and will be provided when required prior to care.
Out-of-Network Benefits & Superbills
For patients with out-of-network benefits, KC Psychiatry, LLC can provide a superbill upon request that may be submitted to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Providing or submitting a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement. Eligibility for out-of-network reimbursement, including whether services are covered and the amount reimbursed, is determined solely by the patient’s insurance plan. Patients are responsible for contacting their insurance carrier to verify out-of-network benefits, reimbursement policies, and submission requirements. KC Psychiatry, LLC is not responsible for reimbursement decisions made by insurance carriers.
Payment
Copayments, deductibles, self-pay fees, and other patient-responsibility amounts are due in accordance with KC Psychiatry, LLC’s Financial Policy. Additional information regarding payment methods and financial responsibilities will be provided during the intake process.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
KC Psychiatry, LLC requires at least 48 business hours’ notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling.
Missed appointment and late-cancellation fees are:
